The Dean of ACES appoints membership to the ACES Safety Committee, a standing committee of the college which reports directly to the dean. The ACES Safety Committee is charged to provide advice and recommend policies and procedures concerning safety issues that affect College operations. A partial listing of responsibilities includes:
Consider policies and procedures pertaining to occupational safety and health issues.
Render advice in consideration of requests for space and facilities for research involving materials and/or activities impacted by occupational safety and health regulations.
Consider policies and procedures pertaining to the safe handling, transport, use and disposal of biological materials.
Recommend policies and procedures for safe operation of farm equipment.
Recommend policies and procedures for safe operation of scientific equipment, when required.
Make other safety and training recommendations as appropriate.
