Professor Mark B. David of NRES will be formally presented with the Environmental Quality Research Award by the American Society of Agronomy at the group's annual awards. The ASA Awards Ceremony will take place on November 5th during the scientific society's Annual Meeting in Tampa, Florida. The annual awards are presented for outstanding contribution to agronomy through education, national and international service, and research.
The Environmental Quality Research Award recognizes contributions that have enhanced the basic understanding of environmental sciences in relation to agriculture, or demonstrated sound and effective management practices for maintaining or improving the quality of soil, water, and air resources. The award consists of a certificate and honorarium.

Dr. David received his B.S. degree from Penn State University, M.S. degree from the University of Maine, and Ph.D. degree from the State University of New York.
